A home-going service was held on May 5 for Wendell “Piney” Harris, 83, at Cotton-Parker Funeral Home. He passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012. He is the husband of Elease V. Burrell Harris; dather of Gerald Anthony Harris, Angela, Alethia, and Antionette Harris; proud grandfather of Zaire Jerome Wertz; brother of June Hawthorne and the late Hazel Grey; uncle of Kimberly Hawthorne; cousin of Gladys Wilder and Clifford Barnes; adored friend of Jerome Wertz. Arrangements were by the Cotton-Parker Funeral Home. Private burial, Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery.
