New bus stop is trap for cars

Dear Editor:

I am a resident of Hoboken living at 12th and Willow. There has recently been added a new bus stop on Willow between 12th & 13th St. I was towed a few weeks ago having not known that the bus stop was put in. I read signs so carefully and was so surprised to learn that I parked in an improper space.

The irony is, since then, I have seen cars being towed every single morning from that spot. As I’m leaving for work, I see multiple cars being towed every day. I am so disturbed that a new bus stop was put in with no notice, no bus shelter, no big sign made for people to learn that a new stop has been installed.

I would be happy to send you pictures/video every day if you would like. The city is getting smart in new ways to make money (not to mention the tow companies.) Put in bus stops, don’t tell anyone, ticket and tow each car. We are shocked. Can we put a notice in the paper “beware of new bus stop on Willow and 13th. Don’t park there, don’t get towed.”

The city should have signs alerting residents, rather than taking advantage of them.

Thank you,

Jenny A.
