Cunningham, Giattino receive president, vice president appointments at Hoboken council meeting

HOBOKEN -- The Hoboken City Council reorganized Wednesday night and appointed Peter Cunningham as council president. Cunningham, a member of the five-member majority faction and ally of the administration, was the only councilperson to be nominated.

The council also appointed Jen Giattino as vice-president; Carol Marsh was reappointed to the city's Planning Board. They were both the sole nominations for each appointment. -Stephen LaMarca

I can understand why "WESTTY" has gone to all the trouble to try to attack me, but if you follow the link it does not show any disagreement with Councilman Cunningham.

It shows a disagreement with his proposal. ROMAN posted an even harsher one if you look . Is he the same roman who blogs as the horse? If he thought Cunningham's proposal was totalitarian then does he have concerns now about him being council president? And where are those concerns on the blog?

And Westy I can understand why you have gone to the truoble to characterize a decent question as an attack but it is not. It is one of many examples of how people in this town are afraid to question City Hall. Doesn't that bother you?

it should be noted that Perry Klaussen banned and edited all posters with dissenting opinions on his Hoboken 411 blog.

That is true sometimes, but he has also published some things that were accurate, and those in the know at the time including yourself agreed that this is what cunninghamn was proposing and you were against it; it was on the agenda so it was not just 411 right? You and many of your favoritebloggers were against what peter was proposing. So I ask one last time what was untrue? You accused me of saying things that were untrue. OK back it up then. Seems to me you had problems with Peter's proposal but now you don't want anyone to know that even though a link proves it. Is it not worth asking him if this could happen again or are you going to wait and keep your lip buttoned until it passes? You certainly were not afraid to be against him a few years ago when he did this. Why so afraid to ask the tough question now.

Smarty, I will talk so you can understand. If you believed then that Cunningham was trying to limit free speech based on an ordinance he proposed then do you have hte same concerns Now? Of not why not.

Seems like you have become a coward so I do not suspect any intelligent response other then to be insulting. Either answer the question or you automatically admit you are afraid to challenge Peter like you used to.

It just bears noting that many of you including Westy felt that Peter Cunningham was trying to limit free speech not long ago and I wonder if you have asked if he has changed his stance. Luckily you stopped him last time but this time he has more power. Now these days none of you will make any complaint even if you believe they are doing something contrary to the public interest. Could this happen again? Maybe you will ask him and serve the public? Congratulations to the council on naming Mean and Nasty as Pres and VP! We can look forward to a year's worth of Napoleonic leadership! It's a shame that Mello was pushed aside here. Delivering the Housing Authority Board for him is not the same.
