A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Sept. 5 at St. John the Baptist Church for Eugene T. Parsons, 87, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away Sept. 2. A World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, Eugene was employed as a foreman for Coca Cola in Kearny, and later as a dispatcher for the Greenville Lafayette Bus Lines. He was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 70 as well as a longtime communicant and very active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Jersey City. Eugene was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Johanna Parsons, and daughter Joanne Petrizzo; father of Eugene Parsons and his wife Carol and son in law John Petrizzo; grandfather of Keith Parsons and his wife Heather, Ann Marie Petrizzo and Joseph Petrizzo; great grandfather of Evan, Caidyn and Jillian Parsons.
