A memorial service was held Oct. 18 for Joan Mazzotta Scamporino of Secaucus. A longtime resident of the Elms Senior Citizen Complex in Secaucus, she passed away Oct. 11 in Providence, R.I. Born in Brooklyn, Joan was raised in Edgewater. She later married and moved to Rhode Island where she spent most of her life in the restaurant business. She lived in Pompano, Fla. for 15 years before retiring to the Elms in Secaucus. Joan loved her friends at the Elms, where she served as president and ran election ballot booths. Joan loved movies, football and Broadway plays. She loved to sing and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She is survived by her son Andrew Scamporino, his wife Martha and her grandchildren Andrew Jr. and Nicole; her daughter Lisa Anderson and grandsons Neil and Kyle and great grandchildren Alex, Kyle and Nick; her sisters Arlene Moutenot and Marilyn Krause. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
