HUDSON COUNTY - The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced late Monday that there will be a partial restoration of train service beginning the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 6, just in time for Election Day.

Effective at 5 a.m. PATH trains will operate from Jersey City's Journal Square Station to 33rd Street in Manhattan. Trains will not stop at the Christopher Street and 9th Street stations. Service will end for the day at

10 p.m. and resume Wednesday morning at 5 a.m., according to a text alert sent to PATH riders.

The PATH train system, which sustained major flooding and other damage, has been suspended since Hurricane Sandy hit last week. - E. Assata Wright
