To the Editor:
Recently the volunteers of the Giordano Food Pantry, located at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, held our fourth annual fundraiser. Every year we hold this event to raise funds to support the food pantry through the winter months. We were extremely happy to find that although the economy continues to falter and we were hit with Hurricane Sandy two weeks prior, the citizens of Bayonne still came out to support us!

We are so very grateful to everyone who donated to us, especially the Bayonne Community Bank, Bayonne Medical Center, Hudacko’s Pharmacy, the Bayonne Chapter of UNICO, Mayor Mark Smith, Jason O’Donnell, the Associates in Cardiovascular Care, Inserra Supermarkets, the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, F.A. Mackenzie Post 165, Carol Migliaccio, Liz Zawacki, Kay Mosca, Vangie Lamela, Loretta Cerullo, Camille Giordano, Jean and Harold Reid, Marie Shahpazian, Maria Nolfo, Vera Vega, Emmie Sottile, Dolores Skrypsky, Maryjane and Paul Witkowski, Lisa McGonaghy, Rosemary Bruno, Domenica and Dominic Gironda, Sacalis Florist, and to all the parishioners at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Of course, our event would not have been a success without everyone who attended to support us! Our biggest thanks go to our volunteers. This group of wonderful people worked so hard and gave their all to make sure our tricky tray was the success that it was! Last but not least, thanks to our pastor, Rev. Joe Barbone, for his endless support in all we do! God bless you all!
