Coming in at (4-1-1), the Colts have been impressive as they command the top spot in the Jewish Community Center of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Junior Division. For the Jets (0-6), the puzzle started to come together as their last two losses were by very slim margins of four and two points. After a slow start, the Colts got on the board when Ashley Solis blazed 20 yards to make it 6-0. The Jets countered with a coast-to-coast dash by speedster Brian “Hot Wheels” Pipher to knot things at 6-all.

The Jets’ ground game seemed on the brink of pulling away as Devin Herring, Thomas Canela, Adam Brash and Josh Belber each had long carries, but once again miscues kept the Jets from cashing in. As halftime neared, the Colts suddenly kicked their effort into overdrive. Erik Solis reeled in a TD toss, followed by Michael Tedesco’s two-point sprint to make it 14-6, Colts. One play later, the Colts’ league-leading defense stepped up as Nate Cintron, Riley Robertson and Michael Tedesco forced the Jets’ ball-carrier out of the end zone for a safety and a 16-6 advantage.

With the Jets serving as their own worst enemy, the Colts capitalized again as Michael Tedesco hauled in a 10-yard TD dart from QB Christopher Ballance. The Colts stretched their lead to 22-6. In this season of giving, the Jets gave the Colts a 26-6 lead by committing two fumbles for two safeties as they stumbled into the second half. In spite of the score, the Jets’ defense played well, but their offense couldn’t get back out of the hanger until Kyle Arano made it 26-12 with his sure-handed TD reception. With the game well in hand, the Colts put their rifle-armed QB Christopher Ballance on the receiving end of an acrobatic TD catch as the Colts rolled to a 32-12 victory.
