A mass of Christian burial took place May 15 at St. Nicholas Church in Jersey City for Emilia D’Elia Jaeger, 60, of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer on May 12. A lifelong resident of Jersey City, Emilia was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed summer barbeques and holidays and will be remembered by family and friends as well as her longtime parish community of St. Nicholas. Emilia was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Nicholas D’Elia, and brother Philip D’Elia. Emilia is survived by her husband John H. Jaeger; her daughter Alicia Hodgins, son Edward Hodgins and wife Kelly; grandmother of Andrew and Jordyn. Also surviving are her stepdaughter Jill Jaeger; sisters in law, Janet D’Elia and Terry Jaeger, and brothers in law Thomas Jaeger and Michael Jaeger. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
