Entering week three of the Jewish Community Center of Bayonne’s Floor Hockey Jr. Division, the (1-2) Red Wings and the (0-3) Blackhawks have met twice with the Wings downing the Hawks in both contests. The Hawks got out to a fast start as Marcelino Soliman drilled his third goal of the season off an assist from Michael Egan. The sluggish Wings needed a jump start and it came via a power play goal from Drew Radil as Declan McCormick picked up the assist. Tied at 1 all, the Red Wings soared into action as Drew Radil poured in three more goals with Declan McCormick (2) and Akshat Thakur (1) on the assists. Leading 4-1, the Red Wings’ budding star goalie, Declan Good, looked like a seasoned veteran in only his second appearance in net as he made 17 saves. The Wings’ comfortable lead got another boost as Drew Radil assisted Declan McCormick on his forth goal of the year making it 5-1, Red Wings. Despite the four goal deficit, the Blackhawks effort never faltered as Logan Mazzioto reeled in 22 saves while Michel Egan and Alexandra Soliman tried to spark the offense. In the closing minutes, the Hawks’ hard work paid off as Harsh Easwar assisted Michael Egan on his forth scoring dart of the season but in the end the Red Wings captured a 5-2 victory.
