HOBOKEN AND BEYOND -- Running Hoboken's parking authority has to be the toughest job in town. You're tasked with creating new parking in a busy mile-square city, and everyone blames you for their tickets.

Yet, John Morgan handles the job with good-natured humor.

Morgan recently started as head of the Hoboken Parking Utility, and sat down for an interview with the Hoboken Reporter this past week to talk about where he came from, where he may create new parking, and other new ideas.

He also says that his department is working with folks at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken to come up with a system to let residents know where they can find a spot, if feasible.

Our story was on the cover of the print edition this past weekend, and can be found on the lower half of this page, or with this link.

(Each weekend's regular news stories are posted on the lower half of the page starting Sunday, while quick, continuously updated breaking news is posted on the top half of the page throughout the week).

In another cover story this weekend, the co-owner of Maxwell's, Todd Abramson, expands upon the comments he made to various media outlets last week about parking in Hoboken, and more. That story is also below under "Hoboken news" on our main page, and linked here.
