A funeral mass was conducted June 24 at St. Catherine of Bologna Church, Ringwood for Margaret A. Matthews. She died at the age of 93 on June 21 and was born on April 10, 1920 in Hoboken. Margaret was received a Nursing Degree from St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken (The original property was donated by her father in the late 1800's). She worked as an Emergency Room Nurse for many years until she became the school nurse at Wallace Elementary School until 1984. At that time she retired to Erskine Lakes in Ringwood, where she had owned a home for sixty years. She has been an active member of the St. Catherine's Senior Citizens for many years as well as a parishioner. She was an Honorary Member of the Woman's Club and a 60 year member of ELPOA. She is survived by her four daughters, Christine Ryan, Gail Davison, Kathleen Haines and Mary Margaret Edwab. She was the mother-in-law of James Ryan, Walter Davison, Gary Haines and David Edwab. She was the grandmother of Kim Link, Robyn Caporuscio, Scott Davison, Stephen Ryan, Keith Davison, Kerri Mansoor, Cindy Van Allen, Chad Haines, Christopher Edwab, Justin Lilly, and Heather Edwab. She was the great-grandmother of twenty four children and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Margaret is also survived by two of her six brothers Joseph and Walter Clark. She was predeceased by her husband William J. Matthews of 65 years, who was the Co-founder of the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps. in 1972 where he also held the elected office of Councilman for twelve years. She is also predeceased by her parents Joseph A. Clark and Christina Haefle Stanton and her brothers James, Gerard, Patrick and Jackie. Services arranged by D’Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell.
