As an active parishioner of St. Joseph-St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Union City, Mr. Yandolino never missed Sunday mass. He was previously actively involved in the former St. Michael’s Monastery Parish until it closed in 1981 and was also a member for many years of the large Catholic fraternal service organization, The Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Yandolino was an avid sports enthusiast, a runner and a lifelong member of the YMCA. He ran and completed an impressive four New York City Marathons, one Boston Marathon and ten Ocean County Park Marathons. Mr. Yandolino was a graduate of Emerson High School and a member of the Emerson High School Alumni Association - Sports Hall of Fame. He regularly attended Emerson High School Alumni Football Dinners for many years. He also enjoyed attending Emerson High School football games and was an avid New York Giants fan who often watched the Giants play at the Meadowlands Stadium. In his spare time, he also coached Pop Warner Little League Football for many years.
Donald and his late wife Barbara enjoyed frequent trips to Wildwood Crest and Cape May and vacationed often in Myrtle Beach, S.C. during their retirement years. They also enjoyed visiting and spending time with their grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Donald Jr., Michael and Patrick; a sister, Roseann Spincola and sister-in-law Tini Yandolino; two grandchildren, Christopher and Tara; and by nephews, Philip, Gregory, and Carl, Jr. and nieces, Linda, Nancy and Jackie. Donald was predeceased by his wife Barbara Yandolino; his parents, Philip and Rose Yandolino; his brother, E. Philip Yandolino; and his brother-in-law Carl Spincola.
