This week, City Attorney Steven Kleinman released final numbers that were included in a state-approved layoff plan to save money in Hoboken.

The city has state approval to demote two police captains, three lieutenants, and five sergeants, and to lay off six regular police officers. In the Fire Department, the city can demote four battalion chiefs and six captains.

The department of Health and Human Services is approved for six layoffs, the City Clerk's office may see one layoff, and non-uniformed Public Safety employees may see eight layoffs.

Kleinman said all layoffs scheduled to take place on May 22, except for police, who will be laid off June 20. He also said the plan is subject to amendment, delay, or cancellation up to the scheduled date of the layoffs.

Mayor Zimmer and her crew sound like children...if you don't do what I want, we will lay people off and, "it will all be your fault." The problem is that the people of Hoboken are getting used as if they were pawns in a game. One thing....Zimmer & crew want to hire out of Hoboken - hire?

The hospital was a sorry, secret deal that we will probably be hearing about again and again and again. In the mean time, Russo, Castellano, Mason and Occhipinti will be working FOR the people of Hoboken, even when Bhalla is off running for something or other and Zimmer is flipping off Christy coattails (or whoever - politics is a fickle business) and someone is running around trying to find a person to run that souinds like Occipinti. Russo, Castellano and Mason have consistently worked for open government and the people of Hoboken. Hoboken's nice....why - people like Russo, Castellano, Mason and Occipinti who are not afraid to fight for what's right. (yep, they know they will be there and asked to fix???? whatever mess the big bat is threatening for)

WAAAA WAAAA, if you don't do what I want, we will lay off. Hey, people of Hoboken, tell Hoboken's first thank you - they will still be there when the ticket comes to roost.
