HOBOKEN AND BEYOND -- Are cakes political? They can be!

Hoboken's "Cake Boss," Buddy Valastro of Carlo's Bakery, held a little ceremony on Thursday afternoon to give a cake to Republican Gov. Chris Christie, who is running for re-election.

While Hoboken and Hudson County are primarily Democratic towns, several Democratic Hudson County mayors have crossed party lines and supported Christie, who has been praised for his response to Hurricane Sandy.

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer has said she will not officially endorse anyone in the race.
