Dear Editor: New Jersey is not for sale nor is The White House because Rocky answered the final bell for the people and the country, alone in the reign and went the distance against Wall Street and The Democratic power brokers of New Jersey. As Rambo he was sacrificed by the northern Democrats, who had no concern for the people of New Jersey as well as the country since Mr. Florio was the people's choice. He received 180,000 votes, a very strong Democratic vote or 42 percent. Mr. Florio carried the entire south of New Jersey, while Corzine carried the entire north. Governor Florio was endorsed by every major newspaper in New Jersey as well as The New York Times. As The New York Times endorsement stated on Tuesday, May 30, 2000, "The Democratic race offers a choice between Jon Corzine, an earnest, big spending political novice, and Jim Florio, a battle scarred but knowledgeable former Governor. We urge New Jersey Democrats to vote for Mr. Florio as the more seasoned and knowledgeable candidate. We do so with full respect for the nobility of Mr Corzine's political impulses and with the hope that he will become a more articulate student of public policy." The Philadelphia Inquirer, Sunday, May 21, "An impressive array of Democratic power brokers has lined up behind Wall Street mogul and his millions in an effort to stop Jim Florio from winning a seat in the U.S Senate. Mr. Florio, a stubborn, aggressive, truth teller has experience that can serve New Jersey well, and he won't go away even when opposed by an ocean of campaign money." By contrast, Jim Florio has built his resume for the U.S. Senate the old fashioned way, he's earned it. "Democrats, vote Florio." Other major newspapers included The Newark Star Ledger, Bergen Record, Jersey Journal, Daily Record, Courier Post, etc. Mr Florio had but $2 million, Jon Corzine spent nearly $40 million to pervert the democratic process. When he couldn't buy the election on the eve of the vote, he laid down nearly $4 million in street money on Election Day stealing the election from Rocky and the people. The Governor received a crusader's vote while 30 percent of Mr. Corzine's vote was mercenary. This was not an election, this was a crucifixion! The people were crucified by Jon Corzine, Wall Street, and the greedy power brokers of northern Jersey. They used Rambo for their dirty work to crush the will of the people. Jim Florio has moved the paradigm or mountain up to The White House because he willed it. Mr. Florio must now make a very difficult decison. If he endorses Corzine as Mr. Gore and Clinton want him to do, he desserts his 180,000 crusaders. If he stays loyal to the people's crusade, Al Gore will lose the presidential election. Rocky and Rambo are very powerful allies especially on the side of the people. In closing, the stigma attached to Mr. Florio as the man who lied and raised the taxes as governor has vanished. Rocky's reward has come! He is a hero in the hearts of the people who disdain their servitude. He has educated the people, and they love him for it. He has freed the press and saved the first Frank Sinatra Museum in Hoboken. Finally, he has lost the election because it was stolen from him. It is as if our vote don't count unless those in control with money want to make it count. If Rocky disappears from the arena, great spirit will have been conquered by great ego. Ed Shirak, Jr.
