Dear Editor:

As a seventh grade student, I believe that without help for the environment there would be a decrease of people and animals. Whether it's heat waves, heavy rains or droughts, it effects all of us. The opening in the ozone layer, caused by many chemicals, allows more sunlight to appear. This could cause skin diseases and global warming. Glaciers melting is taking away habitats of many animals and could also cause flooding.

Do you agree with President Bush about putting down the Kyoto agreement? Well I don't agree. The US produces 25 percent of pollution, yet he still doesn't think the environment is important. He took away $2.3 billion from the environment which the US needs for global warming research. For now I am hoping that President Bush will help the global warming crisis by putting more money towards this research.
