Dear Citizens:

My name is Carrie Gilliard, I am presently a School Board Trustee on the Hoboken School Board. I was elected in 1996; the first, ever and "only" African American elected in the city of Hoboken.

As I believe in representative democracy with equal rights, access and opportunities for all, I am writing this letter to ask for your support in my bid for re-election on Tuesday, April 16th.

I have been an effective board member, and have demonstrated my leadership and courage. If I am elected, I will continue to take a stand for what is in the best interest of our children, as I have demonstrated in the past six years.

If you would be so kind to give me your vote, I pledge to continue my dedication to serve for the betterment of our children's future. I believe our children are the leaders of the future for the "world" tomorrow; therefore, no child should be left behind to make the world a better place.

Vote 7A, Tuesday, April 16 School Board Election.

Respectfully submitted,
Carrie Gilliard
