On May 27, 2002, we will honor and pay tribute to the legacy of our servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country. It is with pride that we, as Americans and New Jerseyans, observe Memorial Day., Every citizen of our great State owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to those who risked and sacrificed their own lives to preserve our democracy and liberty. Since the tragedy of September 11, 2002, our nation has come together to fully understand and respect the duty and service of our men and women in uniform.
I would like to offer my sincerest gratitude to all generations of war veterans and to the men and women currently serving in the armed forces. Your service to your country will continue to provide peace, liberty and freedom for generations to come.
