Bush's message seems to have fallen on deaf ears!

Dear Editor:

Many, many years ago I learned an expression "You can't insult me, I'm too ignorant." Is President Bush falling into that category? Israel has just offered him a great insult especially that they owe their existence mostly to America. Doesn't he get the message or are he and all Americans insensitive? President Bush on TV in no uncertain terms warned Sharon to stop and withdraw from this recent incursion or suffer some unknown negative American reaction. Sharon's answer, perhaps not in my words, but in essence, amounted to "Look Mr. Bush, you run America, and we'll run Israel as we see fit. When we reach our objective then we'll start paying attention to you again." And you know what? After all is said and done, Sharon will get a slap on the wrist and a "Don't you do that again, you naughty boy!"

The message really is that the intent to give the Palestinians their just due is really lip service because Israel is where all the leverage is. Kind of recalls to me a label popular during World War II, "Paper Tiger."
