On Tuesday, April 15, 2003, the voters of Hoboken will select members to serve on the Hoboken Board of Education. This volunteer board is responsible for overseeing the future of Hoboken's school system.
There are many candidates who have demonstrated their commitment to volunteerism in support of our City's youth. Two candidates in particular, John Madigan and Frank Raia, have consistently spent endless hours participating in activities for our school children. John Madigan is the founder of the Calabro School Basketball League and organizes events for the students and families at Calabro throughout the year. There is not a charitable event in Hoboken that Frank Raia has not lent both his time and support to.
I believe both of these candidates, who have a solid record of volunteerism, would make a good addition to the volunteer Board of Education.
