I luv Hoboken

Hoboken is not New York City. In fact, let's face it; it's not even New York state. But Hoboken is home. Besides being just my home, it is home to a great many things. To start, chances are if you're reading this, Hoboken is also your home, and admit it, you're great. And let's not forget Frankie Sinatra. And of course, our nation's pastime had its first ever organized game played on soil right along the Hudson in Hoboken; so screw all that crap about Doubleday and New York.

And screw all those New Yorkers who call us "bridge 'n' tunnelers." Screw everyone who says the Yankees ain't ouws 'cause we're from Joisey. I guess that means both New York football teams belong to us? Screw all those upstate and uptown snobs who say that Hoboken smells. Stop dumping your crap in the river, because guess what, the river flows south. Screw all the Brooklyn hipsters who think they're real New Yorkers just because they live in a borough. I have news for the world: Hoboken is to New York City what Napoleon's Versailles was to Paris.

Deal with it. We have our eye on New York City twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. There's no better view, no buildings in our way. There are no tourists, no gridlock. And we have better homemade mozzarella than I ever got in Italy. And most importantly, Ms. Liberty, yeah, she's ours too. Look at a map, it's definitely on our side. But forget all that and remember one thing. Write it down or cut this article out and tack it up. Read and repeat: Hoboken is definitely NOT New York City. Hoboken is home and always will be. - Nick Z.

Despite the parking tickets, Hoboken is great.
