The Waldman brothers expressed their individuality during the parade. Jaesun Waldman dressed as the now-classic character Darth Vader, while Isaiah Waldman was a firefighter. Kai Waldman was dressed as the Masters of Spinjitzu character Kai Ninjago, the red ninja of fire.

There were princesses and parrots, ninjas and nurses, as hundreds of local residents turned out for the Historic Paulus Hook Association’s annual Children’s Costume Parade/Pet Parade on Sunday Oct. 27.

The three-hour event featured performances by the Jersey City Children’s Theater and several awards for the best costumes for children and pets, who competed in separate categories. The pre-Halloween celebration allowed kids the opportunity to test out their costumes on the “runway” before hitting the streets with them for trick-or-treating.
