Dear Editor:

This is an open letter of thank you to State Senator/Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham. It is to be noted that in recent press releases our Senator and Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham, as a member of the influential Senate and Budget Appropriations Committee, has taken a stand in regards to the proposed cuts to Hudson County in welfare administrative dollars.

Senator/Mayor Cunningham stated that the Hudson County Welfare Division is top in the state in cost effectiveness and is the hardest working and most efficient welfare department across the state. He then proceeded to expound upon the various programs that are serviced by the workers of the agency that assist the elderly, infirm, disabled and families in the area of government assistance.

Mr. Senator and Mayor, it is gratifying when a public official takes an interest in the activities of a department that is helping all of the residents on a day-to-day basis. We at the welfare office are proud of the jobs that we perform and strive each day to better serve the people. You certainly recognize these tasks, and by recognition of these duties performed certainly help us to be better employees,.

Again, thank you for your interest in your lives, M. Mayor/Senator Cunningham.
