Those who punish themselves by reading my articles know that signs threatening to arrest trespassers of ball-playing fields, padlocks and fences around them cause me to vomit. The Easter holiday brought forth another thing to vomit further with.
The hours that libraries and post offices are accessible to the public are ridiculous. Although many young people are occupied with Howdy Doody level TV, and I'm not referring to tots, some serious kids would frequent the library on Sundays and holidays and hours when they are now closed. If they closed instead on a weekday when most kids are in school wouldn't that make more sense?
The post offices close at 4:30 p.m. Just in time to avoid people who are getting out of work. That makes a great deal of sense. Then to add insult to injury, just in case some people might be off on a Saturday, they make sure the post office is closed to avoid the rush from people who chose to work all week.
What we need is more privatization and another quick jump of three cents a stamp so people will not be swamped with pennies. A nice even forty cents would greatly help the new system get closer to fifty cents. Progress!
