Dear Editor: Let's get right to the heart of this subject in question. Many people did sign the petition to have the question of whether or not to have an elected school board put on the ballot on Nov. 2nd in Union City. This is a legal document and it is your right to sign this petition. My point is that whichever side wins or loses, this decision on Nov. 2nd lets the voter decide the question. Whatever that decision may be, it is the people's choice. This is all the petitioners wanted in the first place!

Our mayor stated our taxes have not gone up. Have you looked at your tax statement lately? Yes they have gone up. Where, on our school portion and they're only getting started. Who do you think will have to support all of these schools when they are built? Again the taxpayers! Don't let anyone fool you; this will be a cost that taxpayers will share.

You and I will pay one way or the other. Let's talk about these schools. They say our schools are role models. It's not the buildings; let's give the credit where it's due, it's our teachers and educators, they are the ones who spend their day educating our children.

Anyone that has signed the petition and has been approached at their home and have been harassed, intimidated by people for signing the petition, please let us know. We are here to protect your First Amendment rights. Please call 201-805-9727, Frankie Scarafile or 201-951-4757, Jose Falto.

God Bless America
