Dear Editor:

"Well done...", Mr. Sullivan. When the hierarchy in the United States conference of Catholic Bishops do not come to a definite conclusion on evidently another issue, e.g. partaking in a Sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ by a person who has taken an oath of office and claims to be a disciple of Christ, what is the ordinary layperson to do in forming his or her conscience? Yes, my sisters and brothers, there are gray areas in the Catholic faith and each one has an evolving conscience subject to resources like the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The aftermath of Vatican II, which was an ecumenical Vatican council, has not been resolved fully in the hearts, minds and souls of all the creatures of God. The U.S., Rome and ultimately the entire world await the Parousia. Mara natha!

Peace,
James Mideaker
