Board of Education Trustee is a very hard job. There is little glory and no salary. Some run as a stepping stone to higher office. Some run for the power and influence. Some run may run thinking it will be fun or easy.
But if you do the job the right way, it's not always fun, and it's never easy. I know because I was there.
I believe the Board of Education needs a leader - unconnected to the political powers that be. We need a leader who will ask tough questions and follow them wherever they might lead. A leader committed to the children and to the community. We need someone who knows what she's up against because she's always there at the meetings.
Theresa Minutillo - Row 4A - is getting my vote this Tuesday - polls open 2-9. She is all of the above and more. She may not have all the answers, but at least she'll be asking the right questions. Michael Lenz
