Why is 'Democratic' Organization spending $ to attack one candidate?

Dear Editor,

I am sick and disgusted by the endless torrent of attack flyers arriving in my mailbox paid for by the Hoboken Democratic Organization. It is quite clear which candidate they support and which one they are against. It is impossible to have an open democratic election when outside forces can vastly outspend any other candidate on the ballot. Rather than back and forth volleys of what candidate took money from city contractors (when basically you all have done so), there is something fishy about all the 6 degrees of separation between the Committee and Hoboken politics that smacks of its own brand of pay to play. A person with the talents and abilities to really improve Hoboken couldn't get elected, she or he would be outspent and viciously attacked by the party and for their efforts, their members would be rewarded in ways that won't be found on an accounting spreadsheet.
