The stench of deadly air will begin to life from New Jersey on April 15 when New Jersey's Smoke-Free Air Act takes effect nearly a decade of debate, discussion and false starts. During the decade or so that New Jersey discussed smoke-free air legislation, the American Heart Association and the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids estimate that nearly 19,000 people in New Jersey died due to the effects of secondhand smoke. The killing is over, and it's time to celebrate smoke-free New Jersey and clean air on April 15 with a Smoke-Free Air Act party, says the American Heart Association.
