The school board slate Putting Children First, Making a Difference has a plan. Anthony Romano is advocating a return to the K-8 alignment. Educational research supports this change. Studies were conducted in Milwaukee, Baltimore and Philadelphia that support the realignment. While the K-8 model is no silver bullet for middle school reform, it does deserve consideration. Frank Raia supports the creation of an academic high school. Wanda Santana-Alicea brings her wealth of experience and education to the Board.
On April 18th my family and I are voting for the team of Romano (2A), Santana-Alicea (3A), and Raia (4A). The Hoboken School system needs Board members that are willing to think outside the box. Let's all support a team that is willing to put the educational needs of the children before some campaign headline.
Sincerely,
Daniel Simone, Jr.
