In a hurly-burly political environment, Mayor Roberts was able to assemble a united team, featuring Senate Majority Leader Bernard F. Kenney Jr., Assemblyman Members Joan Quigley, Albio Sires and others to support the authorization of an Authority to run and maintain the hospital and the fine work that St. Mary has provided our community.
My hat is off to the City Council for its fine work in doing its due diligence to enact legislation to save one of our most important resources in a time when we are threatened by those who challenge our way of life.
When all is said and done, at the end of the day and as we move forward, we must acknowledge Mayor Roberts and his team for enabling our community to meet the standards we expect.
