As a longtime resident of Weehawken, I often pass by the new park which is adjacent to the Old Water Tower on Park Ave.
I would like to commend our elected officials for a job well done in restoring the Tower and adjacent area. However, the job is not complete. As long as we have the area littered with liquor bottles and bums hanging out for loose change, what was the purpose of this renovation? The gates to the park are always locked; I do not know if this is to keep out the undesirables or maybe they want to keep everybody out.
Come on Spring is around the corner; let's clean this place up.
