A Bayonne man was found shot on Nov. 19 behind Ahern Veterans Memorial Stadium at about 8 a.m. by an employee of the Bayonne Department of Public Works, said Public Safety Director Jason O’Donnell.
The 22-year-old Egyptian immigrant, who is believed to have allegedly shot himself, was still in critical condition as of Nov. 20, O’Donnell said, and is currently at Jersey City Medical Center.
O’Donnell said the weapon was discovered at the site of the shooting.
The stadium is situated near Bayonne High School.
