A straightforward question about Dawn Zimmer

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in response to Dawn Zimmer and her candidacy for 4th Ward councilperson. My direct question to her is what has she done for this community of Hoboken? Her friends and family write letters on her behalf criticizing her opponent Christopher Campos but he has a record of accomplishment.

As a parent, it's meaningful to see his efforts were honored by both the Hoboken Boys and Girls Club and the Jubilee Center. Additionally, he holds his annual Easter Egg Hunt, Turkey Drives, back to school BBQ's and Christmas party as part of his desire to bring the community together. Most would-be politicians come around once every four years giving trips, dinners and promises - yet Councilman Campos does it every year.

His passion for the children of Hoboken is best noted by his presence at basketball and little league games. Places I have never seen Dawn Zimmer. Annually he reads to the children in our public school district, something I find particularly telling since he doesn't have a child yet. He cares for the children of Hoboken and does all he can to make sure the children get the support and guidance that they need.

As a resident of Hoboken, I cannot think of one thing Dawn Zimmer has done for the 4th Ward. All I have heard is her complaints about flooding, while offering the promise of a capacity study. Dawn Zimmer doesn't explain how she plans on paying to fix the flooding in her plan or doesn't have the qualifications or experience in fixing this problem. We all know there is flooding but what occurred last Sunday is not Councilman Campos' fault. There was flooding throughout the state. Where was Dawn Zimmer? She was probably taking pictures of the flooding, since that's her talent, instead of helping the residents. Councilman Campos was out there helping with the cleanup and had a plan to assist the residents quickly.

I hope the residents of the Fourth realize how qualified and experienced Christopher Campos is to keep our city moving forward. He knows the issues and has a plan that includes everyone, not just one group.

Very truly yours,
The Falzon Family
