I would like to take this opportunity to advise the citizens and voters in the City of Hoboken relative to my personal experience with Chief Richard Tremitiedi who is at the present time a candidate for a ward council seat in the municipal election scheduled for May 8, 2007.
I am a retired chief fire officer and former fire director of both the cities of Orange and Perth Amboy fire departments. While serving in the City of Orange I was the chief inspector/investigator of the Fire Prevention Bureau. I was an author of fire subcode official courses under the auspices of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and as the president of the New Jersey Fire Prevention and Protection Association. I was in the forefront of the development of the New Jersey Fire Safety Act and the New Jersey Fire Code. At the present time I am licensed private detective in the state of New Jersey specializing in fire code and fire loss analysis and I have been retained as the fire expert representing the zoning and planning boards in Rockaway Township and the zoning board in the Town of Kearny.
I met Chief Tremitiedi in 1975 (when we both held the rank of captain) shortly after I had been assigned to the Orange Fire Prevention Bureau. We were both studying for promotion to the rank of deputy chief in our respective departments and during the intervening years form 1975 to the present we shared many similar experiences. After his promotion to the rank of deputy chief, Chief Tremitiedi was assigned as the chief of the Hoboken Fire Prevention Bureau.
I know Chief Tremitiedi to be a dedicated professional who is and has always been committed to the betterment of the City of Hoboken and all of its citizens.
Chief Tremitiedi is a responsible and enthusiastic leader whose integrity and character is unquestioned in the New Jersey fire service and in the affairs of the City of Hoboken. Chief Tremitiedi has demonstrated superior judgment in managing his continuing commitment to the fire service in the State of New Jersey. Subsequent to his retirement from the active fire service he has devoted his substantial knowledge and experience to the intellectual development of future aspiring fire officers in our state.
Chief Tremitiedi is conscientious and dependable exceptional leadership qualities. He is affable, confident, dynamic, self-reliant, trustworthy, honest and dutiful. He displays a high degree of professional intellect and is extremely knowledgeable concerning the issues that the City of Hoboken faces at the present time and will face in the future. He is diligent, thoughtful and approachable and can articulate the positions of the City of Hoboken as well or better than anyone.
In my humble opinion, there are the attributes that make Chief Tremitiedi an extremely valuable addition to the governing body of the City of Hoboken and all voters in the city are encouraged to exercise their prerogative by seriously considering his candidacy in the municipal election on May 8, 2007.
Most respectfully yours,
Samuel A. Maglione
