This is long overdue, for reasons which are immaterial here, but as the (self appointed) music critic pro tem for the Reporter, I must remark on the All District Music Festival presented by the Weehawken School System on April 20 at the high school. It was simply wonderful.
From the first and second grade choirs to the award-winning high school marching band, everyone involved is to be congratulated for their skill and discipline. The children sang beautifully, the bell choir provided some lovely music and the marching band put on an amazing performance with their music and colorful choreography. They did full credit to their director Steven Spinosa, himself the recent winner of the very prestigious Mr. Holland's Opus award.
As the grand finale all the choirs and bands assembled on the stage for a medley of patriotic songs, a moving and impressive ending to an evening which once again made me proud and happy to be a resident of a community which could provide such a measure of talent and cooperation.
