I am writing this letter to urge all the residents of the 4th Ward to vote for the re-election of Councilman Chris Campos. After watching the debates, reviewing the issues and speaking with the various candidates, I am convinced that our neighborhood needs strong and proven leadership.
As informative as the debates were, I was particularly interested in how quickly Ms. Zimmer wavered on the question of regionalization. On the spot, she stated that she was for regionalizing the police and fire departments, yet in the Hoboken Reporter she quickly changed her position. Now I am not suggesting that she is the first candidate to change her position on an issue, but to be so quick to buckle to the fire chief gives us insight into how easily she can be influenced by the city's powerbrokers.
As a resident of the 4th Ward my whole life, I can tell you that things have gotten better. While things are far from perfect, Councilman Campos has a command of our neighborhood's issues and the ability to get things accomplished. I believe our area's best years are before us, and we need strong, effective leadership to get us there. Please Vote 1A on June 12th.
