I am writing this letter to thank all of the residents of the 4th Ward for making this such an exciting election. Specifically, I would like to thank all those who came out to the polls, regardless of the weather and made me the highest vote getter on the machines in our run-off.
Nevertheless, after counting the provisional ballots there is a six vote difference between Dawn Zimmer and myself. As we have found in the municipal election of May 8th, there are several questionable absentee ballots that must be looked at in order to maintain the integrity of the Democratic Process.
I am optimistic that after a careful analysis of the absentee ballots and how they were messengered we will be able to ensure that this election was open and fair. Once again, thank you for coming out to the polls and I look forward to our next steps together.
