Sunday was a wonderful day for Hoboken.
The annual Fall Arts and Music Festival was, again, a great success, highlighting all the amenities Hoboken has to offer, from the diverse selection of vendors to our well- established merchants on Washington Street.
I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank Geri Fallo, Coordinator of Cultural Affairs, her staff and her volunteers, for making this event a remarkable day for our community. Geri's team of devoted workers is a tribute to her leadership skills. They all did a great job!
I have long been an advocate of expanding our cultural projects for residents and visitors. The bi-annual Arts and Music Festival is a signature community event drawing tens of thousands of participants.
I was happy to welcome The Bongos, a true Hoboken musical institution from the 1980's, to headline our entertainment.
Geri shares my vision of complementing and expanding our cultural affairs programs. Events like the Arts and Music Festival, our Artists Studio Tour and the Summer Fun programs of concerts and Movies Under to Stars are just a few examples of the City of Hoboken hard at work for you.
Hoboken is a progressive community and draws on its strengths. Our cultural affairs events, under the direction of Geri Fallo and Human Services Director John Pope shine and reveal the best our City has to offer.
We look forward to seeing you at the Hoboken Artists Studio Tour on Sunday, October 21st.
Mayor David Roberts
