Dear Editor:

Prosperity and better quality of life in Union City continues to grow by landlords and tenants. If you live in Union City you can sense the positive and cohesive feeling by the people that live here. Union City continues to head the right direction. Hundreds of property owners are renovating their old age houses, and business continues to prosper during a time when our national economy is heading for recession.

The prosperity that we are experiencing here in this community is all the result of Mayor Brian P. Stack who heads the local government. When Mayor Stack became Mayor of Union City back in 2001 the city budget had a deficit of $9 million. It took tough decisions by Mayor Stack to bring back the city to its feet financially.

The first step Brian P. Stack did was to freeze hiring city employees. Also Brian immediately went to Trenton and asked finance consultants to come to Union City to help put back together the financial deficit the city had.

I know Brian is running unopposed for the State Senator this November 6, 2007 but every registered voter should come out and show support for the hardest working mayor in the state of New Jersey.

I feel I'm very fortunate to be able to go door to door asking the citizens of this community to step up to the plate and support this statesman that lives to serve his community.

With respect,
Raul "Pico" Marquez
