Dear Editor:

New Jersey's favorite son Francis Albert Sinatra was born December 12, 1915 in Hoboken and that would make him 92 years young this week!

For all of us Sinatra fans I say we miss him very much, and we are most fortunate in having the 'Old Guard' (Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, Harry Prime, Peggy King, Diana Krall, Jerry Vale, Jimmy Roselli, Al Martino among many other 'survivors' of the big band era) soldier on, keeping his music very much alive, and with the many books recently released ('Sinatra: You Only Thought You Knew Him,' 'Frank Sinatra: The Family Album' and 'Sinatra: Frank and Friendly'), a whole new generation of people, young and old, can get to know the man who set the high standards for his repertoire of music and lyrics as only he could interpret them and gave such an intimate, personal touch to make you feel he was singing each song to you alone. That was and still is the genius of Frank Sinatra. Add 'new arrivals' Luciano Pavarotti, Joey Bishop and Robert Goulet to the birthday bash plus Sirius (satellite) Radio programs that feature Frank Sinatra.

Finally, maybe the powers that be will consider releasing a DVD of the 2003 stage/film show 'Sinatra: His Voice, His World, His Way.' A happy 92 to the man with eyes of blue!
