Dear Editor:

Recently all Union City Board of Education employees, both instructional and non-instructional, received a letter from Mr. Stanley M. Sanger who is our Superintendent of the Union City public schools. In his letter Mr. Sanger clearly states that a data from the New Jersey Dept. of Education was released, and once again, our third, fourth and eighth grades continue to surpass state benchmarks in standardized test results. All this academic success in all our schools is not by accident but rather by design of hard work and dedication by the educators and staff of the Board of Education. This success will not stop here because the leader of our community constantly oversees what goes on at the Board of Education.

The positive relationship that exists between Brian P. Stack and Stanley M. Sanger is something special, effective and has never been seen here in this community in past years.

Today our students are achieving higher academic standards than four years ago. Let's all be reminded that four years ago it was Mayor Brian P. Stack who had the vision to appoint Mr. Stanley M. Sanger as the Superintendent of our schools. Today the education success that exists in our students shows that Mr. Sanger was and is the right person to hold one of the most difficult and challenging jobs in any sector in the entire state of New Jersey.

Unlike other politicians Mayor Brian P. Stack holds everyone accountable from top to bottom with respect and open communication, so the input of every employee is the highest of each one's ability.

As an activist I'm always talking to every person of different walks of life, and 90 percent of the people that I talk to feel the same way as I do; the city of Union City and the educational system are under good hands.

With respect,
Raul "Pico" Marquez
