Upon reading your article, "Elwell Zings Gonnelli Again," in the May 25 issue, I noticed an error in the facts regarding the proposed location in Secaucus for Damascus Bakery.
Your article states that "if the bakery were to move there, it would be approximately 2,100 feet from the nearest home..." Wrong. If Damascus Bakery were to move to 10 Enterprise Avenue in Secaucus it would be located less than 50 feet from the nearest home.
That's quite a difference and a major reason for Secaucus opposing the decision of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission to permit a high hazard operation like a commercial bakery to locate so close to the residential community.
