Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Nisler family I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Nicholas Sacco and his administration for allowing the North Bergen schools to hold a district-wide dress down day for Ariana Nisler. Nine-year old Ariana is the daughter of North Bergen High School Class of 1986 Alumni Kevin Nisler. She was diagnosed last August with GBM. Glioblastoma multiforme is a high-grade, or malignant, glioma, a tumor of the glial (supportive) tissue of the brain. Glioblastoma multiforme and anaplastic astrocytoma account for approximately 10 percent of pediatric central nervous system tumors.

The support and compassion during this trying time is overwhelming. The dress down day was Friday, May 31st, and it allowed the faculty or administration to dress down when they donated $5. Without the dress down funds we would have never been able to reach our fundraising goal. We reached out to the North Bergen community and it really helped to make a difference. Friends and family gathered later the same day at Braddock's Restaurant to drop off private donations. A thank you to Braddock's for donating the food and allowing us to use the restaurant.

The Nisler family is extremely grateful for everything everyone has done to help their sick little girl and very proud that they have friends and family in the North Bergen Community that really care.

If you would like to help the Nisler Family you can send your donation to (please make checks payable to Kevin Nisler), Bello Chiropractor, 7601 Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ 07047.

Thankfully,
Pamela Richmond & Friends of Ariana
