On June 19, the Emerson High School graduating class of 2008 formed a sea of interlocking blue and white gowns in front of an emotionally charged crowd of friends, family, and alumni.

The final graduation marked the last event in the school's long illustrious history. As the seniors said their goodbyes to each other, everyone from Board of Education, school administrators, and teachers, past and present, were able to say farewell, as the final chapter came to a close on Emerson High.

These students left as the last graduating class as the doors closed on high school for good, because next September, a new chapter begins when Emerson and Union Hill schools merge to form the Union City High School.
