A funeral mass took place Dec. 12 at DePaul Chapel at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Rosemary Wodzanowski, 79. She passed away Dec. 7 at The Jersey City Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, following surgeries on the 22nd and 29th of November. Her husband Leonard and all six of her children were present, with love for their wife and mother.

Rosemary lived her entire life in Jersey City. She was born on Jan. 27, 1934, along with her twin brother Thomas Bradley. They were the children of Katherine and Chester Bradley, a family of twelve. Rosemary was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School. She married Leonard Wodzanowski on July 12, 1958, a product of St. Paul’s Almega Society. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. Rosemary’s love for her six children, Stephen, Andrew, Paul, Karen, Linda, and Kenneth and fifteen grandchildren Danielle, Aaron, Drew, Jason, Emma, Kimberly, Eric, Matthew, Lauren, Vivian, Johnathan, Ryan, Sean, Katherine and James was the center of her life.

Rosemary was the recipient of the Jersey Journal Woman’s Achievement Award. She was also an active member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church as Eucharist minister, past officer and member of the Rosary Society, Pre-Cana lead couple for twenty years plus, Sunday school teacher for nine years, and Xmas giving tree chairperson for many years.

Rosemary was also active as a Eucharist minister and Catholic mass coordinator at the Newport Nursing Home (formerly the Jewish Nursing Home) for thirty years. She was past president of the auxiliary of Hudson Hospice, thereby serving on the Board of Directors, and a member of the first patient volunteer training care program and active member for thirty years.

Rosemary is survived by her husband Leonard; six children, Stephen Wodzanowski and wife Cyndy, Andrew Wodzanowski and wife Jane, Paul Wodzanowski and wife Sandy, Karen Stapleton and husband Jim, Linda Jevic and husband Donald, and Kenneth Wodzanowski and wife Lauren. She is also survived by her twin brother Thomas Bradley and wife Dorothy, and best friends James and Miriam Medley, together with many Daniels top-of-the Poconos friends. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
