Tricky Tray matinee at Heart of Jesus Church

The Hudson County Animal League will host a Winter Tricky Tray Matinee on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 2 to 5:30 p.m. (doors open 1:30) at Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church, 290 Ave. E.

Tickets are $12, and include a sheet of raffle tickets, coffee or soft drinks, and snacks.

Night of fun and mystery at Sarelli’s on Broadway

“Death at the Doo Wop,” a Murder Mystery Dinner, will be held at Sarelli’s Restaurant, 241 Broadway on Sunday, March 2, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $50 per person, and include the dinner and the show.

The event is being hosted by the Hudson County Animal League.

“Come join us for a night of fun and mystery,” said spokeswoman Maureen Gallagher. “There is limited seating, so please buy your tickets early.”

Super Bowl ‘Join the Huddle’ tour makes penultimate stop in Jersey City

The next-to-last stop of the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee’s “Join the Huddle” mobile tour, the first-ever associated with the NFL Championship Game, will be in Jersey City this week.

The tour will make its final visit to Hudson County in Journal Square on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Fans attending can visit the Huddle Shuttle’s replica stadium locker room with Jets, Giants, and Super Bowl memorabilia.

Fans can also participate in stations outside the structure, where they can perform a variety of basic football drills.

The tour has been traveling throughout New Jersey and New York over the last few months.

‘Super Bird Sunday’ being celebrated Feb. 2 in Meadowlands

The fifth annual “Super Bird Sunday” Nature Walk with the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon Society will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m.



This free, two-hour event starts at the entrance to Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry. It features prizes awarded to any participant who is the first to spot a bird that has the same name as a National Football League team: raven, falcon, eagle, cardinal, etc.

Participants have to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year.
