Dear Editor:

As president of the Weehawken Senior Citizens Club I would personally like to thank our Mayor Richard Turner for all he does for our Weehawken Seniors. We recently enjoyed a beautiful Christmas party at the Brownstone in Paterson. We also had a Thanksgiving party at the senior building on Gregory Avenue, a Halloween Party at the Weehawken Elks, an end of the summer party, etc. We have parades, dedication to our Veterans, but it’s seldom published in our local newspaper. Thank you again, Mayor Turner and our Town Council, for your kindness in all you do.

I would be remiss, not to thank our Senior Director, Kathy Gohde. She’s been there for me, and for anyone who needs her services. She’s a gem. Thank you dear friend.

Thanks also, to our bus drivers, Mark, Willie, and Tina. They are always ready to take our seniors to doctors, and shopping.

We are looking for new members who would like to join our Senior Club. We meet on the first and third Friday of the month at the Nutrition Center 201 Highwood Ave. Come and visit and socialize with your friends, refreshments are served. Bingo is played, and we have a share the wealth drawing.

You’re only a stranger the first time you come, so come and visit.

Alma Segedin
