“Our summer programs are a mix of education and physical activity, but most of all excitement for children of all ages,” says Leatrice Westdal, auxiliary programs coordinator for Stevens Cooperative School. “Families can sign up for any number of the seven weeks of camp and are able to choose from our more traditional day camp or our weekly classes that specialize in activities such as filmmaking, chemistry or sailing. We’re also excited that our challenging academic courses extend to students as young as 2nd grade.”
Stevens’ summer programs begin in mid-June and run through Aug. 8. Each camp group has approximately 15 students led by experienced teachers and assistants, and academic courses are taught by seasoned teaching professionals. Most programs include extended care until 6 p.m.
“Research tells us that in order for children to be successful and to develop into healthy and productive adults, we need to focus on developing the whole child,” says Head of School Dr. Sergio Alati. “Our summer programs are designed with this in mind and with the child as our core focus. We invite the community to join us for a summer of excitement and exploration!”
